Damage cost calculator

What is delivery damage really costing you?

Damaged deliveries cost more than the product. Add up repairs, replacements, second trips and staff time, then see what a lower damage rate is worth to your business each year.

How we keep damage down

Damage is prevented on the dock, not explained at the door

Inspected before it ships

Our Perception service opens, checks and documents each piece at our warehouse, so problems are caught on our dock, not in your customer’s living room.

Scanned at every stage

Every carton is scanned at receiving, staging, load out and delivery. Multi-piece orders stay together, and a missing box is caught before the truck leaves.

Two-person, white glove crews

Uniformed, background-checked crews carry, place and assemble with blankets, floor protection and the right equipment for stairs and tight turns.

Photo proof at the door

Photos at delivery show the condition the piece arrived in, which settles disputes quickly and keeps claims honest.

Repair instead of return

Scratches, loose parts and minor shipping damage can often be fixed in the home or at our warehouse, avoiding a full replacement and a second delivery.

Common questions

What counts as a damaged delivery?
Any delivery that needs a repair, a replacement, a refund, a return trip or a credit because the product arrived damaged, whether it was found at the door or reported by the customer afterwards.
Why include redelivery and staff time?
The product is only part of the cost. Every damaged delivery usually means a second truck trip, calls and emails with the customer, claim paperwork and sometimes a lost repeat customer. Leaving those out understates what damage costs you.
Does CBC guarantee a damage rate?
This calculator is an estimate based on the numbers you enter, not a promise of a specific result. Ask us about the handling standards, inspections and contract terms we can commit to for your freight.
How does CBC reduce damage?
Pieces are inspected before they leave our warehouse, labeled and scanned at receiving, staging, load out and delivery, carried by trained two-person crews, and photographed at the door. Minor shipping damage can often be repaired in the home instead of triggering a full return.
